As an independent foundation, the FZI Research Center for Information Technology has stood for applied cutting-edge research in the field of computer science and its application fields for around four decades.
The FZI researches and develops innovations for the benefit of society and offers excellent researchers a unique springboard to their professional future. For its partners from industry, business, science, associations, and the public sector, the FZI serves as an institution research, training and transfer.
Research teams at the FZI interdisciplinarily develop and prototype concepts, software, hardware and system solutions for their clients. Scientific excellence and interdisciplinary practice are therefore well established at the FZI.
As an independent research institution, the FZI works for companies and public institutions regardless of company size: from small businesses to large corporations, from local public administrations to the European Union. The FZI House of Living Labs offers a unique research environment for applied research.
The FZI is the IT innovation hub in Baden-Württemberg. Application research with reliable knowledge and technology transfer is the core business and competence of the FZI Research Center for Information Technology. The FZI is innovation partner of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the industry. The FZI has its head office in Karlsruhe and a capital office in Berlin.
The FZI’s participation in the Bitkom AI & Data Summit is made possible by the support and work of two initiatives: Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Klima.Neutral.Digital (SME Digital Center Climate.Neutral.Digital) and the European Digital Innovation Hub for Applied Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity (EDIH-AICS). Both initiatives are closely linked to the topic of applied AI.
Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Klima.Neutral.Digital helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and craft businesses achieve climate neutrality through initial information, quick checks, and digitalization projects.
EDIH-AICS aims to make safe, sustainable, and European sovereign AI a reality in science and business. It provides extensive support to national and European SMEs, start-ups, and public sector organizations across many application areas.
